The former face of a Trump dating website was convicted for sex with a minor

The guy whose face and red Trump cap greeted visitors to the new site says he's paid his debt for what he did.

The man whose face fronted a new dating site for straight Trump supporters has a criminal past — for having sex with a minor.

Barrett Riddleberger had been shown with his wife Jodi on the homepage of Trump.Dating until a few days ago when reports of his 1995 conviction — he videotaped himself having sex with a 15-year-old girl — went viral. He was 25 at the time.

"I've already paid my debt for something I did 25 years ago," Riddleberger said in an interview Monday with WRAL, the North Carolina station that surfaced his criminal record soon after the dating site launched Feb. 5 and caused a stir, especially for its heterosexuals-only requirement. It's not clear how his case was settled..

The Riddlebergers, married for 22 years, have been active in their county's Republican politics for many years. Jodi founded a Tea Party PAC called “Conservatives for Guilford County,” according to WRAL.

The Trump-lovers dating site, which incorporates the president's hairstyle in its logo, says it's "giving like-minded Americans a chance to meet without the awkwardness that comes with the first conversation about politics."

It’s not clear who runs the site — the Riddlebergers won’t say what exactly their role is — but it operates under a collection of sites known as “Friends Worldwide” that use a template for creating a niche matchmaking service, for a base fee and at least a 50 percent cut of the site’s income. Users pay $24.99 a month.

A feature of the site that allows a new user to select "happily married" or "unhappily married" as a status in their profile is being fixed, according to Riddleberger.
