The FBI conducted a raid early Saturday morning that reportedly targeted the home of the man suspected of providing some of the weapons used by Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik in the recent mass shooting in San Bernardino that left 14 people dead and 21 wounded.

An FBI spokesman said in a statement that a federal search warrant was executed overnight Saturday in the city of Riverside, a few miles southwest of San Bernardino. The statement said agents entered a home "following a precautionary tactical entry based on evidence developed in this case."

Federal agents reportedly tore through a garage door at around 2am to search the house, which is located on a street where neighbors said the 28-year-old Farook used to live. Neighbors named the man who lived there as Enrique Marquez and said he was often seen with Farook.

NBC News reported that authorities believe Marquez bought the rifles used in the attack, which occurred on Wednesday and left both Farook and his wife Malik dead after a shootout with police. Marquez has not been charged with a crime, and it's unclear if he knew what his former neighbors intended to do with the weapons he allegedly purchased for them.

The couple had two assault-style rifles, two handguns, 12 pipe bombs, and more than 6,000 rounds of ammunition in their home or with them when they were killed, officials said, prompting fears they might have been plotting more attacks. All four guns were purchased legally more than three years ago.

According to an agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) quoted by the the Wall Street Journal, the weapons included a semiautomatic rifle made by DPMS Panther Arms that had been modified to fit a high-capacity magazine, which is illegal in California. There was also reportedly an attempt to modify a Smith & Wesson M&P model handgun so that it would fire automatically.

On Thursday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff released photos of the ammunition and weapons used in the shooting.

The Islamic State claimed Farook and Malik, 27, as followers on Saturday. Facebook has also confirmed that comments praising the Islamic State were posted around the time of the shooting to an account set up by Malik under an alias. It was not clear, however if the comments were posted by Malik, or by someone with access to her page.
