Several more National Football League and National Basketball Association stars have joined the raft of players proudly exhibiting their on-field support for the protests that have erupted across the US in the wake of the non-indictments for officers involved in the deaths of of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. On Sunday, football players Reggie Bush, a Detroit Lions' running back, and the Cleveland Browns' cornerback, Johnson Bademosi, separately ran onto their playing fields with shirts bearing the hand-scrawled slogans "I can't breathe," the final words allegedly uttered by Staten Island resident Garner as he was choked to death by police on July 17.Last week, a grand jury failed to indict Daniel Pantaleo, the officer who put Garner in an illegal chokehold. The rash of anger in the aftermath of the decision that has brought protesters into the streets is ongoing, and in some cities has become even more intense and violent since the verdict was announced. In a different sports arena, a similar symbolic statement was made by basketball star Derrick Rose on Saturday. The Chicago Bulls point guard had a printed t-shirt made up in support of Garner, which he wore during warm ups.

The players ran onto the home field ahead of their game with the Oakland Raiders and flashed the "hands up, don't shoot" gesture that Brown allegedly made before he was shot, according to some witnesses.Missouri police 'offended' by NFL players who walked onto the field with hands up for Michael Brown.
