A new recording released Wednesday by the Islamic State sets a hard deadline for the Jordanian government to deliver imprisoned failed suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi to the Turkish border in exchange for Japanese hostage Kenji Goto.

The 30-second clip does not include video footage of Goto, but features audio that is purportedly a recording of his voice. The voice sounds identical to the one used in earlier messages released by the militant group.

Jordan previously offered to release Rishawi in return for Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh, who was captured by the Islamic State when his plane was downed in December. The latest clip says the pilot will be "killed immediately" if Rishawi is not ready for the exchange at the border by "sunset" Thursday.

The audio does not follow the usual hallmarks of Islamic State productions, but it was circulated Wednesday evening on the group's official channels.

The 44-year-old Rishawi has been imprisoned in Jordan since 2005 for her role in a suicide-bombing plot on three separate hotels in Amman that killed 57 people and injured 90. Rishawi was arrested after her suicide vest failed to detonate.
