Terror Stopped in Its Tracks
Security services have prevented 13 potential terror attacks since June of 2013, according to the UK's most senior counter-terrorism police officer. He also said there were 500 live counter-terror investigations at any time. – BBC

North Korea has fired four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, with three landing within 200 nautical miles of Japan. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the launch was a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, calling it "an extremely dangerous action". – CNN

FBI director James Comey has asked the Justice Department to publicly reject Donald Trump's tweets suggesting that President Barack Obama ordered a wire tap on Trump's phones during the 2016 election. – New York Times

Mosul Moved
More than 40,000 people have been displaced from the Iraqi city of Mosul, where US-backed forces launched a fresh push toward the ISIS-held centre. The pace of displacement has accelerated in recent days as fighting approaches the most densely-populated parts of the city. – Reuters
