Confetti-like polka dots punctuate a shower of spindly leaves while a perfectly portioned storm of tiny black sunglasses stack up in a calming black-on-pink amalgamation. Simplicity is key for illustrator and designer Jennifer Bouron, who studied fashion and graphic design in school in France. Bouron upgrades her simplistic aesthetic with an astute eye for airy pastels and inky tones. The artist relegates her patterns to the background and brings a slice-of-life to the forefront, and describes her work as "bold and naive." Her particular interest lies with drawing patterns and pared-down shapes, which include "dots or naive leaves." She says, "I also draw illustrations about daily life—it always contains a lot of cats, girls, and plants.""When I draw characters," continues Boulon, "I always draw them clothes that I would like to have in my wardrobe. I use a defined color palette mainly pale pink, dark blue, forest green, and red. I like the contrast between the shy pink and the deep navy, it makes the illustration stronger."Tea TimeTo see more from Jennifer Bouron, visit her Instagram page here.Related:It's Always the Weekend in These Intricate Paintings of DowntimePencil and Crayon Illustrations Celebrate the Small Joys of Everyday LifeMagical Drawings Put Women in Conversation with Their Demons
