Selfie-Thirsty Neymar Fan Caught Hiding in the Seleção's Hotel Laundry Room

What with the basements of Olympians' lodging catching fire nowadays, an arrest could have been the least of his worries.

Sometimes you've got to do dirty work to get that one shining moment of glory. And such was the way with the Neymar fan who was arrested after being discovered hidden away in the depths of the Brazilian Olympic team's hotel laundry room, according to ESPN Brazil.

The man managed to sneak into the hotel with the use of fake Brazilian FA credentials before tucking himself into the laundry room to wait for the right opportunity, ESPN Brazil reported. The police told AFP (according to 101 Great Goals) that the 21-year-old referred to himself as something of a Neymar fanboy upon his arrest, with police spokesman Vladimir Passos adding,

Hotel staff noticed something strange in his behaviour and called us. [He] planned to approach Neymar and the team. The flaw was spotted and we've fixed it.

The man, who allegedly only wanted a selfie, was later released with a warning (kids these days). He should consider himself lucky, though—and not just because he ducked some legal trouble.
