This Amiga 500 Animation, Center Core Never More, Will Both Terrify And Amaze You

Jim Wilson’s early 90s oddity has weirdness seeping out from every frame.

Maybe it’s the dramatic John Carpenter-esque score, or the old school computer visuals, or the weird products like a galaxy in a jar. Or maybe it’s the man with a brain for a face—but there’s something both unnerving and captivating about this animation Center Core Never More from Jim Wilson.

As he states in the beginning of the vid, it was created on an Amiga 500 computer with only 1MB of memory using Deluxe Paint III back in the early 90s. The narrative runs like so: a woman arrives in an unknown city on a train and walks into a deli before being confronted by a man with a brain for a face who says to her: “Forgive the intrusion, my lady. I did not intend to offend your eye, for I am a vile and loathsome creature. And I’ve crawled in here to die”.

He then turns into a pink blob before disappearing into an egg and floating off into space. It’s about as random as it gets, but it’s also weirdly brilliant.
