Go Vintage with Red Axes' New Video for “The Watkins”

How about a little surf rock for the nearest beach party?

We've all seen enough sweaty, high-fidelity festival footage for a lifetime, so for Red Axes' new jam "The Watkins," video director Marco Dos Santos went vintage with these archival clips from French television. The images are a perfect dose of nostalgia, and the dusty footage provides an interesting counterpart to the song's throwback rockabilly psychedelia. In keeping with the theme, "The Watkins" begins with a simple surf rock guitar-line and transforms into a multi-layered dancefloor heater complete with a tempting bassline and a funky groove.

The Israeli duo of Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi are began their career in a new wave post-punk band before moving on to more electronic territories. They're putting out their debut album via Cliché Records, the label that brought you Simian Mobile Disco's debut record—so set your expectations high.
