Watch Reddit Troll Violentacrez's Interview With CNN

The worst part of the Internet are people like Violentacrez, who dedicate themselves to digging up, promoting, and creating that filth so that it’s on display to offend and freak out as many people as possible.

The worst part about the internet isn’t that it contains a whole lot of filth. I mean, I’m writing this from New York City, where today fucked up shit is happening under our noses all the time. The worst part of the internet are people like Violentacrez, who dedicate themselves to digging up, promoting, and creating that filth so that it’s on display to offend and freak out as many people as possible.

I guess it’s kinda comical then that Michael Brutsch, the 49-year-old man behind Violentacrez, is the perfect embodiment of a internet creep caricature: a sad, rumpled middle-aged man with a grubby goatee, multiple chins, and a complete disconnect from reality. The unearthing of Violentacrez as the most offensive dude on Reddit has finally forced the site to make its most important decision yet, and begin to put more restrictions on unsavory content. But that’s not the huge revelation from the CNN video above, despite CNN’s handwringing about Reddit itself. It’s that some trolls aren’t just fucking around online for a laugh. As Brutsch’s case makes clear, everyone has a voice online, even those of us that are shamelessly twisted at heart.
