For the past two years, producer Jen Kinney has been looking into the movement to arm teachers in schools—and what it means when teachers start to carry guns in the classroom. This is the first part of a three part series. Part one follows student Cooper Caffrey, who was shot by a classmate in eighth grade—a few years later, his Ohio school decided to have its teachers carry guns. But not everyone likes the idea. We take you inside the fight over firearms that divided the school.
