The news is part overwhelming and part boring, so here's a quick list of all the stuff we thought was significant today:

- Professor Stephen Hawking has passed away at the age of 76.

- Theresa May will today announce the measures that the UK will take against Russia in response to the nerve agent attack on a former double agent in Salisbury.

- The Counter-terrorism unit are investigating the death of Russian exile and Putin critic, Nikolai Glushkov, after his body was found in his London home.

- A dog has died on a United Airlines flight after a flight attendant put the pet into an overhead locker.

- The 1p and 2p coins may soon disappear as the treasury announces a review into whether people still even use them anymore.

- Communities Secretary Sajid Javid has revealed that 770,000 people living in England can speak little to no English. This comes ahead of the publication of a government green paper that will put £50 million into promoting integration.

- Google will ban cryptocurrency advertising from its platforms.

- And… it might snow again this weekend.
