Putin shows off new “invincible” nukes during military parade

Among the new hardware was the hypersonic missile "Kinzhal," a weapon Putin calls "invincible."

Putin debuted Russia's latest military technology at a V-Day parade in the Moscow Red Square on Wednesday. Thousands of soldiers marched alongside tanks and missile launchers to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of Nazi Germany’s surrender during WWII. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were guests of honor at the event.

Among the military hardware was the hypersonic missile “Kinzhal,” a weapon that Putin described in March as “invincible” and capable of overcoming any missile defense system.

During a speech at the parade, Putin warned that the world is “very fragile” and also took a subtle jab at U.S. exceptionalism. “Behind new threats show through the same old monstrous features: selfishness and intolerance, aggressive nationalism and claims to exceptionalness," he said.
