President Trump believes he's brave enough to challenge an active shooter, even if his only weapons were his bare hands.“I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon,” Trump said at a Washington meeting with 39 governors on Monday.Trump isn’t exactly known for his humility, but this isn’t just a show of bravado. Trump is calling out the armed school resource officer who was on Stoneman Douglas High School’s campus during the Feb. 14 mass shooting but failed to enter the school. Trump has already called the guard a “coward.” During a 2016 campaign rally, however, Trump clutched his bodyguards when an unarmed protester rushed the stage.WATCH: This private school trains student "warriors" to swarm an active shooter“When it came time to go in there and do something, he didn’t have the courage or something happened, but he certainly did a poor job, there’s no question about that,” Trump said of the guard, Scott Peterson, last week. The teen gunman, a former student at the south Florida school, fired more than 100 rounds over a period of several minutes.In the past, Trump has said that people with guns are the best measure to stop other people with guns, such as when he said the 2015 Paris attacks would have been “much different” if France had more-relaxed gun laws.Peterson resigned last Friday after he was suspended without pay while the Broward County Sheriff’s Office investigated his actions.
