A 19-year-old student at Central Michigan University shot and killed two people in a campus dorm on Friday. He's still at large and armed, according to local police.Multiple local publications reported that the victims were the student's parents, although local police wouldn't confirm. The university didn't elaborate on the victim's identities either but did confirm the two people fatally shot were not students.The shooting took place in the Campbell Hall dorm, and students were told to shelter in place as the university and surrounding city buildings went into lockdown. There’s no additional information about what prompted the shooting, except that the school believes that it was the result of a “domestic situation.”Students received an automated phone call alerting them to the shooting on Friday morning around 9:00 a.m. local time.

Central Michigan University is about 200 miles west of Detroit in Mount Pleasant, a town of about 26,000 people. Over 20,000 students are enrolled and attend classes on the university’s campus, which doesn't allow weapons on campus. All public schools in Mount Pleasant were on lockdown on Friday.Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder tweeted that he was in touch with local authorities and would be monitoring the situation.
