Protesters killed as Pakistanis take to the streets over little girls' murders

Protests are in their second day following the death of two civilians Wednesday.

Thousands of marchers filled the streets of Kasur, Pakistan, for the second day of protests over the murder of 7-year-old Zainab Anari. Zainab was raped and murdered following her abduction on Jan. 4. Her body was found in a garbage pile Tuesday, four days after she was reported missing. Eleven other girls have been abducted, raped, and killed in the same area in the past year. Protesters are calling for the resignation of Punjab's Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, saying police aren't doing enough to keep their children safe. And the protestors themselves aren't safe: Two civilians were killed during the first day of protests Wednesday, after police fired live ammunition on protesters who were reportedly attempting to storm police headquarters.
