On Thursday night at a town hall meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire, Donald Trump opened the floor up to questions. The first one was a doozy.

"We have a problem in this country, it's called Muslims. We know our current president is one," said the man. "We know he's not even an American. We have training camps growing, where they want to kill us…. When can we get rid of them?"

Trump, who for years questioned the legitimacy of President Barack Obama's US citizenship without presenting any evidence to back up his claims, did not refute anything the man said.

"We're going to be looking at a lot of different things," Trump responded. "You know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We're going to look at that and plenty of other things."

Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, told the Washington Post that the candidate was referring to the camps when he said he would "look at that."

During the 2008 presidential campaign, John McCain faced a similar situation. He shut down the questioner, saying that Obama is a "decent family man citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with."
