New video shows "I'm calling ICE" lawyer railing against foreigners outside Trump Tower

Aaron Schlossberg seems to have a habit of aggressively accosting strangers with his views on immigration.

A New York lawyer who went on a racist tirade in a deli in Midtown Manhattan and threatened to call ICE on Spanish-speaking New Yorkers seems to have a habit of aggressively accosting strangers with his views on immigration.

After footage of the deli incident went viral Wednesday, internet sleuths identified the man as Aaron Schlossberg, a highly educated lawyer with a private practice in Manhattan focused on commercial and insurance law.

And it turns out this isn't the first time Schlossberg has been caught on camera talking about his political views. VICE News obtained a video from April 29, 2017, that shows Schlossberg dressed in a red MAGA hat and a T-shirt with the word “American” on it, waving an American flag and railing against protesters gathered outside of Trump Tower.

The video captures a portion of a heated interaction between Schlossberg and a protester who says he’s from the Netherlands. “You have no idea what you’re talking about,” Schlossberg says. “You should just say ‘Thank you for letting me in your motherfucking country.’”

“You care about America because you need America, so fuck you,” he continued. “You’re goddamn welcome for letting you in here. You’re welcome.”

Civil rights activist Shaun King also obtained a separate video from October 2016 that shows Schlossberg ranting at a stranger in Manhattan. “What country are you from?” Schlossberg asks. “I’m a citizen here; you’re not. You’re an ugly fucking foreigner, so fuck you.”

Schlossberg did not return VICE News’ request for comment.

The Tuesday incident at the Fresh Kitchen in Manhattan spotlighted the mainstreaming of xenophobic and anti-immigrant hostilities, and prompted calls for the New York State Bar Association to review Schlossberg’s license to practice law.

“Schlossberg should have his law license reviewed, and possibly revoked,” Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. wrote on Twitter. “This racist incident makes it crystal-clear that he is not suited to practice law in our state.”

Schlossberg’s law firm has also suffered consequences from his behavior. The Law Office of Aaron M. Schlossberg, Esq., which offers services in Spanish, now has a one-star rating on Yelp. His firm boasts a five-star rating on Google Reviews, but its page has also been flooded by photos of Mexican restaurants.
