At least three people are dead after a truck drove through a pedestrian mall in Stockholm Friday afternoon, in what officials have already labeled a terrorist attack.

“Sweden has been attacked; everything indicates that this is a terrorist act,” Sweden’s prime minister said in a statement soon after, urging the public to stay alert and follow police instructions.

Just before 3 p.m. local time, a beer truck plowed through the Drottninggatan, the city’s busiest shopping area, before smashing into the side of an upscale department store. The vehicle had been reported stolen by the Swedish brewery Spendrups that morning, after someone “jumped into the driver’s cabin and drove off,” according to a local news agency.

The attack closely resembles recent incidents in Berlin and Nice, France, that involved lone attackers driving stolen vehicles into a crowd and were later claimed by the Islamic State group. While no official claims have been made yet, analysts say pro-ISIS social media channels are celebrating the truck attack.

Swedish police blocked off the area and evacuated a nearby train station. They said they haven’t been able to track down the driver, who escaped into the crowd, but they released images of a possible suspect.
