Pro-Russia protesters have stormed and seized several Ukrainian government buildings in at least three different cities in the past week. The protesters are demanding a referendum that is similar to the legislation that led to the annexation of Crimea by Russia last month.

VICE News' Frederick Paxton captured the scene of the occupied security headquarters in Luhansk.

A crowd of pro-Russian activists marched through the streets of Luhansk on April 8, waving what appeared to be the flags of the Russian Airborne Troops and the USSR VDV (Soviet Airborne).
