Police say that three people are dead and three more wounded after a shooter opened fire at a Rite Aid distribution warehouse Thursday morning in Aberdeen, Maryland, about 26 miles outside of Baltimore.The suspect, a 26-year-old woman, is also dead, Harford Sheriff Jeff Gahler said. Police have not released her identity, but said that she was from Baltimore County and was working as a temporary employee at the warehouse. She had been working her normal shift, and it was not her first day at work.The suspect used a 9 millimeter Glock, which she owned legally, authorities said.“There were no shots fired by any law enforcement officers responding to the scene,” Gahler said. He did not say whether the suspect killed herself.A spokesperson for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to VICE News that they responded to a shooting at 9:00 a.m. at a warehouse complex.

At a press conference, Harford County Executive Barry Glassman praised the quick response from law enforcement. “Unfortunately in today’s world we have active shooter drilling. I can tell you that every agency performed at the top of their profession,” Glassman said. “This is too often an occurrence. Not only in Harford, but in the country.”The FBI in Baltimore tweeted earlier that it was assisting Harford Sheriff’s Office with “an active shooter situation,” and Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan also responded to the shooting on Twitter, saying, “We are closely monitoring the horrific shooting in Aberdeen. Our prayers are with all those impacted, including our first responders.
