What it’s like to be a White House staffer who needs a lawyer

The last two U.S. administrations saw nothing like the Bill Clinton years, when scandal was everywhere in the White House, all the time. But Donald Trump’s administration is entering a phase where just about everyone needs a lawyer.

In the 1990s during the Clinton administration, high-level staffers like communications director George Stephanopoulos needed a lawyer, and so did a very low-level staffer named Jen Palmieri, who hired an intern named Monica. That changed Palmieri’s life and the administration she worked for.

So, what can insiders from the Clinton White House tell us about what’s going on inside the Trump White House these days? VICE News speaks to some of them for perspective.
