George Zimmerman charged for allegedly threatening to feed Trayvon Martin film scout to an alligator

“Anyone who fucks with my parents will be fed to an alligator.”

That’s just one of dozens of threats George Zimmerman sent to a man scouting for a documentary about Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old teen Zimmerman shot and killed in 2012, according to a Seminole County Sheriff’s Department police report. Zimmerman has now been charged with aggravated stalking.

Dennis Warren, a private investigator, contacted the sheriff's office in December 2017 and said he was being stalked by Zimmerman, whom he’d contacted to see if he was interested in being a part of the Martin documentary. After refusing to be a part of the film, Zimmerman allegedly sent a series of threatening texts, phone calls, and voicemails to Warren. Over one two-hour span, for example, Zimmerman sent 21 phone calls, 38 text messages, and seven voicemails to Warren, according to a police report.

Some examples of Zimmerman’s texts:

“Answer your phone. PUSSY!”

“I’ll see you before you realize it.”

“Text me again. I’ll show up at your home you FUCKING PUSSY!!!”

Zimmerman also sent Warren a link to an article that quoted him as saying: “I know how to handle people who fuck with me, I have since February 2012,” according to the police report. (Zimmerman killed the unarmed Martin in 2012 as a self-styled neighborhood vigilante.)

After Warren contacted the police, a female officer called Zimmerman. At the time, the author of the police report overheard Zimmerman bombarding her with profanity, calling her a “fucking cunt” and a “fucking whore.”

Zimmerman was found not guilty of murdering Martin in 2013, and controversy and legal trouble have followed him ever since. Later in 2013, he was charged with felony aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, though the charges were later dropped. He was charged again with aggravated assault in 2015 for allegedly throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend, though the charges were again dropped.

Zimmerman was served with papers for the misdemeanor stalking charges on May 3. His arraignment is scheduled for May 30.
