Millennials are living with their parents at a rate not seen since the Great Depression

Leaving the nest is becoming an elusive rite of passage. In 2015, the percentage of young Americans living with parents or other family members hit a 75-year high. A spike in young people moving in with family is expected during recessions, but historically those numbers shrink when the economy starts to recover.

Analysts point to rising rent and barriers to securing mortgage loans as part of why there hasn’t been a decline.
