Stormy Daniels just denied her own denial that she pocketed “hush money” from Trump

Porn star Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006, denied Tuesday signing a statement that refuted claims she was paid “hush money” to cover up the relationship with the then-businessman.

Earlier, Buzzfeed obtained a letter that denied the allegations:

“I am not denying this affair because I was paid ‘hush money,’ as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened,” the statement said, apparently signed by Daniels.

The story alleging payment of $130,000 for the actress’ silence was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. The deal reportedly included the signing of a non-disclosure agreement.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday following Trump’s State of the Union address, the actress was asked if she signed the statement. “I don't know, did I? That doesn't look like my signature, does it?” she said quizzically.

The signature on Tuesday’s statement does not match that on Daniels’ original statement issued Jan. 10 that denied the affair with the thrice-married hotelier.

When asked about the new statement, Daniels said: “I do not know where it came from.”

Buzzfeed’s Anthony Cormier later tweeted that Daniels’ lawyer Keith Davidson reiterated his client did indeed sign Tuesday’s statement.

Other questions were raised by this latest partial denial:

Daniels previously admitted the affair with Trump, first in a 2011 interview with Intouch magazine and again in 2016, a month before the election.
