After two gunmen reportedly shot at an LAPD patrol car on Sunday, a citywide search led to one man being taken in to custody Monday, the Los Angeles Times reported. No officers were injured in the shooting, and the other gunman is reportedly still on the loose.

Following the shooting, the LAPD declared a citywide tactical alert, sending every available officer to the area to assist with the search. The citywide manhunt was called off Monday morning, but the search for the second shooter continues.

"We do not have a face or a name, there are leads that investigators are following up on," Detective Meghan Aguilar remarked, according to the LA Times. "This is obviously a dangerous individual who does not belong on the streets of Los Angeles."

The man in custody, considered a person of interest, has not been named.

The shooting occurred while the officers responded to another 911 call. Their cruiser was fired on by a man with a rifle, which was recovered at the scene. Police have characterized the attack as "premeditated."
