A video showing three Jordanian political commentators getting into a heated argument and destroying a studio set, apparently live on air, has been released by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The clip shows two commentators, Shaker Al-Jawhari and Muhammad Al-Jayousi, debating the crisis in Syria and arguing on each other’s stance on the Assad government. The men trade insults, then the situation quickly escalates when the table is flipped over and the men charge at each other. The top of the table comes away easily and the rest of it falls apart.

According to AP, the conversation broke down when al-Jayousi accused al-Johari of supporting the Syrian rebels. Al-Johari countered by claiming that al-Jayousi had taken money for supporting Assad.

MEMRI is a Washington DC-based press monitoring organization that frequently disseminates videos from the Arab world and Middle East. It was co-founded by a former member of the Israeli military intelligence unit and an Israeli-American political scientist.

The site has been criticized as aiming to portray the Arab world in a negative and harmful light. Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations told the Washington Times: "Memri's intent is to find the worst possible quotes from the Muslim world and disseminate them as widely as possible.”

The video could not be independently verified but it allegedly was aired on Jordan’s 7 Stars TV on Tuesday.
