Jeb Bush likes comics, capitalism, and hot superheroes.

When asked to name his favorite Marvel superhero at a campaign event in Las Vegas Wednesday, Bush at first dodged the question and didn't actually name one. He responded by saying, "I like watching the movies. I wish I owned Marvel, as someone that believes in capitalism."

Perhaps sensing the audience's disappointment with his answer praising market strategy over the name of a superhero, he settled on Batman.

"I don't know, I'm kind of old school, I like the old school guys like Batman."

Batman might be old school, but it is worth noting that he is a DC Comics character and not a Marvel superhero.

But then Bush tried for a third time, adding that he had caught an advertisement for the new Supergirl show on television that morning while he was working out at the gym.

"She looked kinda — she looked pretty hot," Bush said. "I don't know what channel it's on but I'm looking forward to that."

The audience broke out into awkward laughter and clapping, to which Bush then acknowledged, "That'll make news."

The show he was referring to is a new CBS tween drama starring 24-year-old actress Melissa Benoist. Supergirl, like Batman, is also not a Marvel character.

Bush might not be a diehard fan of superheroes, but his rival Ted Cruz reportedly is. In an  interview with The New York Times Magazine, Cruz expressed his fandom of comic book characters and said that he is "more of a Spider-Man guy."
