North Korea calls Trump's nuclear tweets the "spasm of a lunatic"

The pissing contest continues.

Donald Trump’s “bigger and more powerful” nuclear button tweet was the “spasm of a lunatic” and the “bark of a rabid dog,” North Korea bawled Tuesday.

An editorial in the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper called the president’s Jan. 3 post the “bluff” of a “loser” and a “psychopath,” who has failed to stop the “vigorous advance of the army and people of the DPRK.”

“Recently, Trump who is crazy about the hostile policy toward the DPRK has once again stunned the world by twitting [ sic] that he has a 'big and strong nuclear button,'” the editorial said, translated by the Wall Street Journal.

“After these reckless remarks were twitted [ sic], they have become the target of scoff and criticism.”

“Trump's bluff is regarded by the DPRK as just a spasm of a lunatic frightened by the might of Juche Korea and a bark of a rabid dog.”

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have eased in recent weeks, Pyongyang reopening the cross-border military hotline, and high-level diplomatic talks resulting in North Korea’s participation in the Winter Olympics next month.

But Trump has continued his bellicose rhetoric while assessing military options — including one that would see a preemptive strike against a North Korean weapons base.

On the same day talks were held in the demilitarized zone, Washington announced the sale of a missile defense system to Japan.

The Kremlin claimed Tuesday the these U.S. missiles could be used to launch an attack against North Korea.

Though the U.S. and South Korea temporarily suspended their joint military exercises, Washington has deployed nuclear-capable stealth bombers and warships to the region ahead of next month’s Olympics, according to Stripes.
