Chile has declared a state of emergency as the country battles historic wildfires.President Michelle Bachelet called for international help combating the almost 40 wildfires plaguing the country. Unusually hot temperatures and an ongoing eight-year drought are complicating efforts to bring the fires under control. So far, almost 300,000 acres of woodland have been torched.
