Photos: Violence erupts at white supremacist rally in Charlottesville

Violence broke out during a protests by white supremacists and nationalists in Charlottesville, Virginia, Saturday, as the governor declared a state of emergency. A car plowed into counter-protesters, causing one death and dozens of injuries.

White supremacists and members of the “alt-right,” many of whom were armed, clashed with counter-protesters and law enforcement, leaving several more people injured. President Trump condemned the violence on Twitter “from all sides” without explicitly condemning white supremacists.
