Woman says Al Franken groped her in 2010: “He totally grabbed my butt.”

A second woman has accused Minnesota Sen. Al Franken of inappropriate touching.

Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old who now lives in Texas, said Franken grabbed her butt while she posed for a photo with him at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair, two years after he was elected to the Senate.

“It wasn’t around my waist. It wasn’t around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt,” Menz told CNN. “I was like, oh my God, what’s happening?!”

Just last week, a news anchor named Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of forcibly kissing her and posted a photo of the senator apparently groping her while she was asleep aboard a transport plane related to a USO tour where they had performed together in 2006. Franken has issued apologies for both incidents, but Republicans and others are calling for his resignation.

“I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don’t remember taking this picture,” Franken, a Democrat, said in a statement. “I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected.”

Menz’s story has been corroborated by her husband, her mother, and her father. Jeremy Menz, her husband, witnessed the incident, and her parents say that Lindsay told them about the alleged encounter immediately after it happened.

“I was upset. I wasn’t happy about it in the least,” Jeremy Menz told CNN. “He was already gone and I wasn’t going to confront him. But yeah — I was in shock, really.”
