State and cities produced some of the most awkward publicly funded videos in their quest to land Amazon’s new headquarters.

By the time Amazon stopped accepting bids for its second headquarters, states and cities around the country had produced some of the most awkward, publicly funded videos ever.

But in their quests to land Amazon’s new headquarters, local governments didn’t just make cringeworthy films; they also put together real bids with big incentives.

VICE News takes a look at some of the pitches and explores whether the city or state that wins will end up regretting its self-humiliation.
