Donald Trump wakes up, immediately tweets about nonexistent Miss Universe sex tape

Many have said the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump makes things up, particularly when he is angry. In the wee hours of Friday morning, the mogul candidate fired off a series of tweets falsely accusing 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado, with whom he’s recently been sparing, of making a “sex tape.”

The leader of the Republican ticket began with a handful tweets slamming the media andClinton before ominously hinting at Machado’s “past.” Finally, at 5:30 a.m., he spelled out what he meant.

“Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?” Trump lamented. He’s been hammering Machado after she recently endorsed Clinton and taken on the role of a surrogate.

Machado responded on Instagram, in Spanish, at 10:30 a.m., calling Trump’s tweets “false accusations about my life.”

“When I was a young girl, the now-candidate humiliated me, insulted me and disrespected me publicly,” she wrote.

The episode echoes a night in March when he threatened to “spill the beans” on the wife of his primary opponent Sen. Ted Cruz after an anti-Trump super PAC ridiculed his wife for once posing nude in a magazine.

“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!” Trump tweeted. He never followed up on the beans in question.

The Machado showdown has dragged on since the first presidential debate on Monday, where Hillary Clinton brought up Trump calling the former pageant winner “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping,” for gaining weight and being Hispanic, respectively.
