Is organic food a rip-off?

According to a 2015 study by Consumer Reports, organics are 45 percent more expensive than conventional food. Meanwhile, a survey by the Organic Trade Association found that 52 percent of organic shoppers are millennials. So are these foods worth the extra cost, or are young people (and  any consumers who buy organics) getting ripped off?
