Wildfires in Northern California have killed at least 15 people, displaced 20,000 people, and destroyed more than 1,500 buildings since the fires began on Sunday evening.Governor Jerry Brown has issued emergency proclamations for eight different counties as more than a dozen separate fires continue to burn. The destruction is massive, especially to California’s famed wine country in Napa and Sonoma counties, and to marijuana farmers. The warm, dry climate and high winds of October create the perfect environment for wildfires to spark in Northern California. So far this year, 7,484 wildfires have burned more than 760,000 acres in California.
