The union representing video game voice actors is on strike

SAG-AFTRA, the union representing voice actors and motion capture artists, is striking against the video game industry.

Coming after almost two years of negotiations, the strike could affect games put into production after February 2015 by eight of the largest video game production companies, including by some big game makers like Electronic Arts, ActiVision and Disney Character Voices.

The group’s demands: residual pay for games that sell more than 2 million units; reduced work days, to prevent vocal stress; and stunt coordinators for motion capture shoots.

The strike went into effect at 12:01am PST on Friday.
