Three states will vote on the death penalty this Election Day

Public support for the death penalty in the United States is the lowest it’s been in more than 30 years, and 42 percent of Americans say they’re against it.

On Nov. 8, voters heading to the polls in three states — Nebraska, California, and Oklahoma — will be asked to decide how the death penalty is used and in some cases whether it should exist at all.
