Watch "fake news" become a meaningless phrase

“Fake news” started out as a term referring to intentionally fraudulent news stories. It has now devolved into a cudgel, used by the Right, the Left, and even the president-elect to discredit anyone they disagree with or dislike. Check out the below video to see how the term has been overused, and misused, to attack everything from the New York Times to fruitcake, to the point of meaninglessness.

RIP, “fake news.” We declare this term literally dead. And, by “literally” we of course mean figuratively because we are living in the post-truth era. Good luck sorting it out!
