In their first week on High Standards Music Corner, hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd get “picnic vibes” from Kygo and Selena Gomez’s new collaboration. “This sounds too good to be sad,” Slim Jimmy said of the breakup song.

“Man, there is some good music out right now,” the duo declared before sitting down to review the following songs:

  • “It Ain’t Me,” by Kygo & Selena Gomez
  • “Test Drive,” by RiFF RAFF
  • “Cloud 9,” by Jamiroquai
  • “This Is My Town,” by Barry Manilow

Coming off their first No. 1 ranking on the Hot 100, for “Black Beatles,” the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd have joined VICE News Tonight as the new in-house music critics. The duo is brothers Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown, and Aaquil “Slim Jimmy” Brown, who grew up in California but moved to Tupelo, Mississippi, at an early age. They released their debut album SremmLife in 2015 and are best known for their 2016 single “Black Beatles.”
