Watch former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates testify before the Senate

Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates warned President Donald Trump about hiring retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn as his national security adviser — or so the story goes. President Barack Obama reportedly did the same.

In scheduled testimony on Monday, Yates is expected to reveal the truth. Alongside James Clapper, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, she’ll face tough questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee on Russian interference in the election, the FBI’s investigation into Flynn, and possible information leaks to the Washington Post.

Yates, the acting head of the Justice Department until she broke ranks with Trump over his first failed travel ban, was supposed to testify before the House committee investigating Russia’s involvement in the elections. But the committee’s chair, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, abruptly canceled the hearing. He’s since stepped down from his role.
