Watch the acting director of the FBI testify before the Senate
James Comey’s second-in-command at the FBI is making his first public appearance since Donald Trump abruptly fired his boss two days ago.
Testifying Thursday in front of the Senate committee that’s leading the Trump-Russia investigation, acting FBI director Andrew McCabe will be joined by the directors of the NSA, CIA, Defense Intelligence Agency, and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to discuss Russian interference in last year’s presidential campaign.
Thursday’s hearing is only the Senate Intelligence Committee’s second public one regarding Trump and Russia and the first with the heads of the intelligence community. Expect questions about the intelligence community’s January assessment that the Russian government meddled in last year’s presidential election to help Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton.
Democrats will also certainly ask McCabe about the status of the FBI’s investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government last year.
