He won because he spoke to white, working class voters in swing districts like Jefferson County, Wisconsin.“I think people feel forgotten out in these parts,” said Kevin Kopplin, Vice Chair of the Jefferson County Democratic Party. “Certainly, Trump spoke to that message.”Kopplin never thought Trump stood a chance, he told VICE News correspondent Josh Hersh. Trump’s victory validated the research of University of Wisconsin-Madison professor Kathy Cramer, who has studied the growth of resentment in rural areas.“He basically said to folks, ‘You’re right.
