Inside The Making of "Brigsby Bear" (HBO)

Brigsby Bear is the endearing movie you need after a long week.

It stars SNL's Kyle Mooney who plays James Pope, a man who's only form of entertainment– in fact his worldview– is based on a show called "Brigsby Bear Adventures," which is, unbeknownst to him, created by his parents (played by Mark Hamill and Jane Adams), just for him.

The show is taken away from him in one, life-changing day.

Realizing the show doesn't exist in the real world, Mooney's character rallies his newfound friends to create the final chapter of Brigsby Bear Adventures.

In VICE News' Storyboard series, creators explain the inspiration and process behind making films. This segment originally aired July 27, 2017, on VICE News Tonight on HBO.
