Brazilian police disperse scuffles between rival protesters demonstrating over the questioning of former President Lula on corruption allegations.

Demonstrations kick off across São Paulo following the detention and questioning of former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, better known as "Lula". A sweeping federal investigation of corruption and money laundering at state oil company Petrobras has implicated a number of influential political and business figures. Federal officials accuse Lula of funding election campaigns using kickbacks and bribes pumped into inflated oil contracts, a charge he denies.
