The Migrant Burial Ground (Extra Scene from ‘Death Boats to Greece: Europe or Die’)

In this extra scene from the 'Europe Or Die' series, Vice News visits a cemetery on the island of Lesbos, where the buried bodies reside of those refugees who take the "death boats" to Europe and befall disaster on the journey.

Since 2000, more than 27,000 migrants and refugees have died attempting the perilous journey to Europe. With an unprecedented number of people breaking through its heavily barricaded borders in 2014, the EU continues to fortify its frontiers.

In this extra scene from 'Death Boats to Greece: Europe or Die,' VICE News correspondent Milène Larsson visits a cemetery on the island of Lesbos, where those Syrian and Afghan refugees who perished en route to the European island on the notorious "death boats" are unceremoniously buried.
